Another Milestone for IPv6 Task force Pakistan
I feel pride in writing that our fellow Ipv6 Commando Aftab Siddiqui has successfully connected the First Pakistani University to the IPv6 Core “6 Core” Project.
IPv6 Task Force feels proud announcing the Academia Partnership with The Center of Excellence for IP Technologies at NUST School of Electrical Engineering.
NUST-SEECS started IPv6 Implementation, research and testing in 2010. The Center of Excellence for IP Technologies, being jointly managed by PTCL, NUST and Cisco Systems in collaboration, is operational at the NUST campus in Islamabad since September, 2008. The center brings to one forum the expertise of global networking market leader Cisco, the top ranked Pakistani engineering university, NUST, Pakistan’s one of the largest Internet and Data Communication Network Service Provider CYBERNET and the biggest telecom service provider in Pakistan PTCL.
The center aims to strengthen industry-academia linkages and promote international collaboration, We would like to appreciate the efforts of following members of NUST-SEECS implementation group.
- Dr. Adeel Baig (Asst. Professor NUST SEECS, Member MOITT Committee on National IPv6 Transition)
- Dr. Adnan Khalid Kiani (Asst Professor NUST SEECS, Member MOITT Committee on National IPv6 Transition)
- Mr. Ajmal Farooq (Head/Director of NUST-SEECS ITS Department)
- Mr. Imran Chaudhry (IPv6 Team Lead at NUST SEECS)
I further welcome all universities in Pakistan to come forward and connect at least 1 router from their network to 6 Core. Further details are available at http://www.ipv6tf.org.pk
This is indeed a milestone for Ipv6 task force Pakistan
